Internships at Fearless CounSouling
Become the Therapist You Are Meant to Be
Most internships are designed to help you earn your hours.
Ours is designed to help you discover who you are as a therapist.
At Fearless CounSouling, we believe that becoming a therapist is about much more than learning interventions, writing treatment plans, or accumulating clinical experience.
It is about developing yourself as the instrument of therapy.
It is about learning how to think clinically, remain present with suffering, tolerate uncertainty, and trust both your knowledge and your humanity.
It is about discovering your own therapeutic voice.
If that sounds like the kind of therapist you hope to become, you may be exactly who we're looking for.

An Incubator for Emerging Therapists
Fearless CounSouling is intentionally different from most group practices.
We exclusively hire Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns (RMHCIs) and Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Interns (RMFTIs) in Florida because we believe the years between graduate school and independent licensure are some of the most formative in a therapist's career.
We think of this season as an apprenticeship—a unique opportunity to deepen your clinical skills, discover your therapeutic voice, develop confidence, and begin building the professional identity that will support you throughout your career.
Our goal isn't simply to help you accumulate clinical hours.
Our goal is to help you become the therapist you are meant to be.
As your confidence grows, so will your caseload. Throughout your internship, you'll have the opportunity to establish meaningful relationships with clients and build a sustainable practice. When you become fully licensed, those clients can transition with you, allowing you to begin the next chapter of your career with experience, confidence, and continuity of care.
Unlike many group practices, we don't expect therapists to stay after licensure.
In fact, we hope you don't.
Our mission is to prepare you to confidently step into your own professional future—whether that means opening a private practice, joining another group, or creating a career that reflects your unique strengths and values.

Our Philosophy
Everything we do begins with one simple belief:
People are not broken. They have adapted.
Rather than seeing symptoms as problems to eliminate, we understand them as intelligent adaptations to life's experiences.
Healing isn't about fixing people.
It is about helping them understand themselves.
We intentionally spell our name CounSouling because our work extends beyond symptom reduction.
When we use the word soul, we are not referring to any particular religion or spiritual tradition.
We are referring to the deepest, most authentic expression of a person—the part that exists beneath fear, shame, expectations, performance, and survival.
Likewise, when we talk about ego, we are referring to the adaptive identity every human being develops throughout life.
The ego isn't the enemy.
It is the collection of protective patterns that helped us survive.
Therapy isn't about strengthening or eliminating the ego.
It is about understanding it with compassion, appreciating its intelligence, and helping it become flexible enough that authenticity, creativity, connection, and wisdom have room to emerge.
Our work is deeply rooted in psychology while remaining open to the deeper questions of the human experience.

How We Practice
Our clinicians integrate developmental psychology, attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-informed care, nervous system regulation, and other evidence-based approaches.
We also believe no single model explains the complexity of being human.
Our work is guided by curiosity more than certainty.
Relationship more than technique.
Understanding before intervention.
Throughout your internship, you'll learn how to meet insurance requirements with excellence while never reducing a person to a diagnosis.
You'll learn to write treatment plans that address symptoms while also increasing a client's capacity to build meaningful relationships, tolerate difficult emotions, establish healthy boundaries, and live more authentically.
Because symptoms matter.
But capacity matters, too.

Developing Yourself as the Instrument of Therapy
We believe the most important tool you bring into the therapy room isn't a treatment manual.
It's you.
Your presence.
Your curiosity.
Your capacity to regulate yourself.
Your willingness to remain open.
Your ability to tolerate uncertainty.
Your own ongoing growth.
Because of this, supervision is about more than reviewing cases.
It is also about becoming increasingly aware of yourself, your patterns, your strengths, your blind spots, and the ways your own experiences influence your clinical work.
The better you know yourself, the more present you can be for others.
