Who am I? What do I want in life?
During times of transition, chaos, conflict, or grief, we often find ourselves asking these questions: "Who am I and what do I really want?" I believe that who we are is shaped by the stories we develop about ourselves. Those stories come from our families, identities, experiences, and how we process the world around us. |
As someone who grew up in an Armenian immigrant family, I believe examining these identities and stories can help us understand our beliefs and worldview. They can also help us examine what feels authentic to who we are, and identify the beliefs that may be limiting our growth. As we unpack these identities, histories, and beliefs, we also identify sources of strength and explore how these beliefs may be influencing our behaviors and choices.
My goal is to help you slow down and examine your beliefs with curiosity, and to help you process your experiences in a safe environment.
Healing is possible when we learn how to untangle our own agency and choices from experiences, identities, or barriers outside of our control. In therapy, we can explore where you do have choices, while also making space to grieve, process, and come to terms with the things you cannot change.
Ultimately, I want to help you understand yourself more deeply and develop a clearer sense of what matters to you. Together, we can look honestly at your experiences, recognize both the strengths that have helped you get here and the patterns that may no longer be serving you, and explore how the way you see yourself affects the way you move through the world. My hope is that this understanding gives you greater self-compassion and the ability to make choices that feel more aligned with who you are, what you need, and the life you want to create.
You are the expert on your own experience. I am here to listen carefully, ask questions, notice patterns, and offer another perspective. I also welcome clients whose spirituality, worldview, or practices fall outside of traditional frameworks, and can offer pagan-affirming counseling. I am open to using tarot or astrology as tools for reflection and exploration.
